Post Activities

Our commitment is to support Veterans and Veteran’s family in need whenever and wherever needed. This goes for active members or our military families as well.

These are just a few of the many services your Kent Meridian VFW Post 6785 perform each and every year. We hope this encourages  you to join our dedicated  post or re-new your membership

  1. Provide Honor Guard Burial Services for Deceased Veterans on and off reservation.
  2. Staff the Personal Info Center at Tahoma National Cemetery.
  3. Support and sponsor a Kent Boy Scout Troop.
  4. Support and sponsor a Kent Cub Scout Troop.
  5. Support the Marine Corp Jr. R.O.T.C. program at Kentwood High School.
  6. Do road clean up in the Kent area quarterly.
  7. Support the Blue Star Memorial in Kent .
  8. Provide leadership and funds to support Youth Essay, Patriots Pen, and Voice of Democracy  programs.
  9. Provide Phone cards to active duty service men and woman.
  10. Major support  to  the USO at SEATAC Airport both man power and monetary donations.
  11. Provide coffee and cookies at I-5 and I 90 REST STOPS.
  12. Provide paperbacks, magazines and jigsaw puzzles to patients at VA Hospital Seattle, WA.
  13. Donate money to VA hospital Seattle for inpatients Christmas Party.
  14. Distribute Poppies 3 times a year at various grocery stores.
  15. Support our local Military Post with Summer picnic and Christmas party.
  16. Provide gift cards to Military Post members and families in need during Christmas Holidays.
  17. Conduct Bingo games at VA Hospital Seattle Monthly.
  18. Help Veterans of our Post with financial problems or hardship thru donations or needed labor.
  19. Send flowers and cards to those in need in our military unit and post.
  20. Support Tahoma Nat’l Cemetery on Memorial and Veterans Day.
  21. Provide flag services throughout the Kent area for organizations requesting such.
  22. Teach Boy Scouts and assist them with proper disposal of old and worn out Flags.
  23. Provide monetary support for the VFW National Home for children in Eaton Rapids Michigan.
  24. Work with various Church groups that provide Quilts to VA Hospital patients.
  25. Sponsor a Jr Boys Baseball team and a Jr Girls Volley ball team.
  26. Provide monetary support to the Green River Community college Veteran fund 
  27. Transport members and family members to doctor appointments and hospital appointments as needed.
