Thanks for the suggestion.
When a photo is uploaded into word press, the site automatically compresses and resizes the image to allow for quick loading and page viewing. We have a size limit of 3G on the site, and would have to pay for storage for pictures after that, and if we left the images uncompressed not only would the pages load considerably slower, we would fill our quota very quickly.
I post most of the images – so if you want an original, let me know and I can email it to you separately.
